Absolute Project Management project

1 Bedroom mews house with garden

Design and Project Management of whole house redecoration including new glazing, floor finishes and sourcing of furnishings throughout. The clients wanted to inject some style and better wearing finishes throughout.  They have two cats so wood flooring replaced the previous carpeting throughout the ground floor, the herringbone pattern matching the beautiful rear brick wall.  The clients opted for oiled parquet with lots of knots which, as well as being full of character, could be easily maintained and would hide any mishaps. We also suggested replacing the functional but not beautiful white PVC rear door and window with a new crittall style, to elevate the spaces, increase light and add value for resale purposes.

The clients had lots of personal items, books and artworks for display in the GF making the space feel busy.  To add some continuity and style- we helped them select key items, grouped them and added black frames and accessories to tie everything together.  The loft hatch was enlarged and a dedicated ladder fitted so remaining items and books, could be safely stored until the clients upsize to their next home.

The boiler and elecs were updated throughout and we introduced smart technology such as a Nest thermostat and sure flap cat flap- allowing the clients greater control of their home.  Planting was added throughout (with special attention to avoid poisonous plants for cats) to make the space feel homely, and bridge the gap between the inside and wonderful garden area.

In the garden, we replaced the old fencing behind the shed and painted it black to match the doors and make the shed/ planting stand out. Festoon lights were installed on a timer and good quality garden furniture, painted to match the shed- provide a lovely space for entertaining in the summer.
