The BIID Knowledge Hub is a cloud-based online platform that hosts a wide range of educational content to foster the learning and development of interior designers, interior design students and other industry professionals. Users can register and access the content on the platform completely free of charge. It provides flexible education, allowing users to improve their skills, knowledge and expertise at their own pace.
The e-learning hosted on the Knowledge Hub also counts towards the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of designers. The BIID requires all its Registered Interior Designers to undertake 20 hours of CPD activity each year (further details of our policy here). In addition to providing a platform for a wide range of e-learning, the BIID Knowledge Hub also includes an Education Tracker, that enables users to record all of their learning activity, both online and offline.
The e-learning on the platform is provided by a range of organisations who are experts in their field. Our growing list of accredited providers includes: UK Green Building Council, CEDIA, the Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA), British Woodworking Federation, Dominic Schuster, Spiral Cellars, Natural Stone Projects, GoodWeave, The Wood Window Alliance, and Swedish Wood.
Suitable for designers working on residential and commercial projects, the long term aim of the Knowledge Hub is to host e-learning on all areas of interior design, including project case studies, specifying products and finishes, regulations and legislation, health and safety, sustainability, inclusive design, professional practice and more.
The BIID is also inviting any individuals or organisations who would like to share their knowledge or expertise to get in touch to find out how they can get involved.
