Event description
100%
Design, the UK's largest design trade show celebrates its 21st edition at
a brand new home, Olympia London. Staged in the dramatic Grand and West
Halls, the show will take place across two levels and benefit from
natural light, grand architectural spaces, and five distinct
sections; from Interiors to Design & Build through Kitchens
& Bathrooms, Workplace and Emerging Brands.
Based upon the central theme 'Design in Colour', this year's 100% Design
has collaborated closely with trend forecasters WGSN among many
others, to bring to life the visual and sensual experience of using colour
across interiors and the built environment. This is supported by
specially commissioned and thought-provoking
editorial features, world-leading seminars and live content alongside
over 400 exhibitors. Speakers include Ilse Crawford, Winy Maas of
MVRDV, Roger van der Heide, Peter Murray and Pavlo Schtakleff.
The top colour trends for 2016 will thread throughout the show and act as
a means of navigating the show floors as well as demonstrating the
day-to-day importance of colour.
The popular
talks programme, Talks with 100% Design, will also return with BIID Vice
President Susie Rumbold chairing a discussion on how to be bold and original
with colour. The discussion will explore how to create a colour palette and
make the leap from being inspired by the pages of a magazine to having the
confidence to create your own colour schemes, rather than just imitate. The talk will take place on Saturday 26th September at 3pm.
