BIID Members plus a guest are invited to attend a fun and relaxing evening exploring the art of Japanese Calligraphy with master calligrapher Kashuu.
Learn about the ancient art of Japanese Calligraphy in this basic skills workshop and immerse yourself in one of Japan’s great traditions over drinks and nibbles.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
London based Kashuu was born in Kumamoto, Japan in 1979 started Japanese calligraphy at the age of 6. In 1998 Kashuu was given the title of Master and the following year, she was awarded the highest title of Professor by the Japan Calligraphy Foundation and given the calligrapher’s name Kashuu（佳萩). Kashuu translates broadly as a gracious, but strong flower blooming in the wild mountain. Kashuu creates her own calligraphic artworks that convey ideas of Zen philosophy - the essence of peace. Kashuu is regularly commissioned by many notable clients including a host of famous global brands such as Panasonic, Toyota, Nobu Hotel London and our hosts, TOTO.
