To coincide with London Fashion Week, Gray M.C.A presents Drawing on Style, a new exhibition of rare original fashion illustrations.
Drawing on Style will highlight the extraordinary talents of leading fashion artists of the 20th century, including rare and previously unseen original works by masters of the genre as well as work by important contemporary fashion illustrators working at the forefront of fashion interpretation today.
Highlights of Drawing on Style include previously unseen illustrations by the renowned artist René Gruau (1909-2004), powerful early work from the estate of American artist Antonio Lopez (1943 - 1987), leader of the hedonistic New York fashion crowd who burst onto the scene in the 70s, original sketches by the influential Sunday Times fashion columnist Colin McDowell (b. 1936), new work by British illustrator Jason Brooks (b. 1969), whose clients include Chanel and Louis Vuitton, and works by the celebrated American contemporary fashion illustrator and Christian Dior’s artist-in-residence Bil Donovan (b. 1953).
on Style will also include original
Illustrations by René Bouché (1905
- 1963), Carl ‘Eric’ Erickson (1891
