Architectural Guided Tour of the Roca London Gallery 27th February 2018
Learn how to get your work featured in the media in this practical, hands-on workshop. The three-hour session has been specially tailored for interior designers and covers topics ranging from how to make your website press friendly to how to write a press release or track down elusive journalists. There will be tips on sending images, using social media to engage with journalists and bloggers, as well as creating case studies and tweaking stories to suit different publications.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The session will include a slide presentation looking at every aspect of achieving media coverage in a digital age including tips on using and sending photographs, writing and presenting press releases in the correct format as well as information on useful media databases. The talk will include lively participation as well as some informal exercises designed to help you present your ideas clearly and effectively to the media. There will also be lots of hand outs, tip sheets and examples of good and bad PR practice and of course, time for questions!

By the end of the session you should feel emerge feeling confident about the practical steps needed to ensure your business gets effective media coverage.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
The course is led by Serena Fokschaner, an experienced design journalist (publications include The Telegraph and Homes & Gardens) and founder of Good Coverage, a company which specialises in PR courses for individuals and organisations ranging from Sotheby’s Institute to Morley College, City University and The Portman Estate.

About the venue
The meeting room is on the 7th floor of the citizenM Tower of London hotel. To access the 7th floor pass through the lobby and head straight to the elevators. There is no need to check in. A societyM ambassador will greet you on arrival on the 7th floor at the desk (turn right from the elevator). If there isn’t an ambassador available, just make your way around the bar towards the view of the Tower of London where you will find meeting room 1. The bar facilities are for hotel guests only, please do not use this space. Tea and coffee facilities are complimentary and found within the meeting room.
