Affiliate

Affiliate membership is open to professionals with an interest in the interior design industry including those in the construction industry and education.

Member Benefits

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be a member of a professional organisation that is a full member of the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and have a professional interest in interior design (this category of membership is not for suppliers to the trade or interior designers).

Or

Educators teaching interior design courses, specifically those nationally accredited at Level 5 or above in the UK.

Affiliate Members can contribute to the development and increasing professionalism of the interior design industry in multiple ways. Whilst a team of staff handles the day-to-day business of the Institute, there are many opportunities to get involved at Council and Committee level. 

Application Process

Applicants are required to complete the online application form and include details of their business or educational establishment, and profession.

Membership Fees

The subscription rate for Affiliate Members *£155 + VAT.

*If you switch to paying by direct debit you can spread your payments over the year by a direct debit collection only. If payment is made by BACS/Credit or Debit card the full invoice amount must be paid. Fees are reviewed annually. 

Educators are entitled to free Affiliate membership.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Application Refusal - The BIID reserves the right to refuse International Dual Member status to applicants.
  2. Annual Subscription - Our financial year for membership runs from 1st April to 31st March. Annual subscriptions are due on 1st April. Individuals who apply mid-year will be issued an invoice calculated monthly on a pro-rata basis.
  3. Resignations - Members should inform the Institute by 31st March if they do not wish to renew their membership.
  4. Refunds - No refunds of a subscription or part subscription are possible.
