Bringing it all Together
The drawing room is a large room with a lot going on.The seating and furniture arrangement needed to be flexible to accommodate the different activities of this retired couple who often have a large extended family visiting. They were keen to introduce plenty of warm colours that would compliment the oak floor. The fabulous fireplace was designed and made in the Cotswolds for this room, and the hand made curtains and upholstered furniture sit perfectly next to their antique furniture.
The remit for the kitchen was to create something traditional with a modern twist that was good looking enough to be part of the informal and formal dining area. The shaker style cupboards and drawers met the traditional brief whilst the colours, worktops and tiles modernized the style. The injection of red into the scheme appears to make the room less serious and inject a sense of character. The clients were particularly delighted with how this room finally came together.
The dominant feature in the hallway was the colour and texture of wood. The curtain fabric gave the opportunity to introduce another colour and pattern but is still in keeping with a warm colour palette and traditional style. The fireplace was also designed and made for this room and its large size provides an architectural focal point that works really well in this room.
We are very proud that for this project we were awarded a UK Property Award in 2014.
