Luxurious Master Bedroom
The homeowners loved to travel and experience luxurious hotel rooms, but their own master bedroom looked dated and cluttered. My brief was to create the homeowners a bedroom that had hotel luxury but with a cosy, relaxing and homely feeling.
My design focused on a neutral colour scheme based around soft taupe with accents of plum, the homeowners favourite colour.
One of the main changes of the bedroom was to optimise storage with discreet solutions. Full height mirrored wardrobes and hidden drawers immediately opened up the room, maximising both light and space.
A handmade velvet buttoned headboard was the main design feature of the bedroom, balancing out the height of the room whilst adding a sense of luxury and softness. For a liveable hotel look, whilst taking into consideration the homeowner's allergies, the bed was styled with pure cotton sheets and handmade silk cushions. The cushions were buttoned to compliment the headboard.
To showcase the height of the windows, I incorporated full length handmade, gold silk curtains with a simple but elegant pelmet. As the windows were particularly tall, and as an attention to detail, I also incorporated a pull system to easily open and close the curtains. For added privacy, I included a sheer roller blind.
Here's what the homeowners had to say:
"Gwendoline is extremely professional. We felt very involved in the choice of items and were given a range to choose from, which we appreciated. The final items were all to a very high quality and we are very happy with the finished room."
