Detached Victorian Property, London
After a highly successful career creating the Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons with her former husband, Raymond Blanc, and The Maison Blanc Patisserie chain, in 1996 Jenny Blanc launched her award winning design practice and lifestyle showroom in West London. The skills and flair she used when designing the impeccable interiors of this now legendary hotel, where their guests’ every comfort and whim is catered for, she now uses to create beautiful homes for her clients.
The company specialises, but not exclusively, in interior design for properties in the UK and Caribbean offering a complete design service with country houses, city apartments, corporate assignments and holiday homes in the tropics all approached with the same personal approach and exacting attention to detail.
Jenny and design director, Sue Thomas-Richardson, are actively involved in every aspect of each project from conception to completion and are supported by a talented and knowledgeable team of designers. They have built up a reputation for the excellence of their designs, the comfort of the homes they create and the quality of finish. Many clients have asked Jenny to design homes for them both in the UK and Caribbean and repeatedly return to the company to seek out their expertise.
Twelve years ago, Jenny’s work in the UK led to a commission on a luxury property in Barbados which in turn led to further projects in the Caribbean. Barbados-born, Sue Thomas-Richardson, brings a wealth of indispensable local knowledge of designing homes for living in the tropics and the company has developed specialist expertise in furnishings that will stand up to the rigours of a tropical marine environment. All projects are developed by the design studio in London and, as many clients in Barbados are British with their main homes in the UK, they find it particularly convenient to be able to attend progress meetings without having to travel to Barbados.
In December 2011, Jenny Blanc opened their own showroom in Barbados which has become a magnet for homeowners looking for unique, stylish furnishings and accessories. The Barbados showroom also serves are a showcase for Jenny Blanc’s work in the Caribbean where potential clients can view her work and seek out friendly, expert advice.
Jenny’s distinctive style and exquisite use of colour has brought many awards and international success. In December 2012, competing against design practices from across the world, the company was awarded ‘International Winner – Best Interior Design Private Residence’ by the International Property Awards for a sympathetic restoration of a country lodge in Hertfordshire. The client said of the winning project:
“Choosing to work with Jenny Blanc and her team was undoubtedly one of the best decisions we ever made regarding our home. The process was enjoyable and collaborative and Jenny and Sue tuned into our sensibilities so precisely, it felt as though they were our own.”
Current projects include a Jacobean manor house in Lincolnshire, a beach side holiday home in Cornwall and several holiday homes in exclusive developments overlooking the sea in the Caribbean.
