Key Interiors specialises in a variety of styles. Below are examples of some of our contemporary projects.
Our client downsized from a large Chelsea house we had designed for them many years previously to a three bedroom apartment, located near Tate Modern on London's South Bank. This is an award-winning development by Foster & Partners. We designed and sourced the furnishings, lighting and colour schemes, and a number of pieces were custom-made for the space taking our clients' wishes into account.
West London House
Our client purchased this house in a charming street in West London, in dire need of complete refurbishment. The main work undertaken was moving the kitchen from the rear of the house to the front, and enlarging the opening between the areas, thus creating a large open-plan space for living, dining and cooking, one of their hobbies. A new contract oak-look laminate floor, highly resistant to water, was installed throughout the ground floor and unifies the space.
The kitchen units are glossy and off-white, selected to maximise the feeling of space. The back-painted glass splash-back in the pale elegant wall colour (Blackened by Farrow & Ball) further reflects light and blends in with other elements of the scheme. The dark technical stone worktop creates a dramatic contrast. The dark anthracite stained oak in the kitchen is repeated in the living room bookcase.
Furniture was kept light to maximise its impact in the restricted space. A raspberry pink sofa, scatter cushions and vibrant artwork create pops of colour.
Other work included creating drainage and tiling the patio and full-length planter in dark slate tiles, fitting out two compact yet elegant bathrooms, one of which is in the new bright and light loft extension. We also designed and fitted built-in wardrobes and a flat weave runner on the stairs as well as carrying out the full redecoration of the interior and exterior of the house.
