This renovation of a James Taylor designed Georgian townhouse in one of Islington’s most exclusive streets, focused on the ground floor, basement and a 3 storey glass extension to the rear of the property.
The basement was dug down to match the generous Georgian proportions throughout the house. A wine cellar and larder were inserted into the original coal stores. The rest of the structure was completely opened up to make space for a large, luxurious kitchen with broad island complete with breakfast bar, dining area and sun-filled lounge. The restful palette of warm wood finishes mingled with caramel and taupe tones complimented by luxurious velvet textures added warmth and comfort to the modern styling. Bespoke pieces, such as the cabinets in the dining area add a sense of occasion and connects the rooms by referencing tones used throughout the kitchen.
