Given carte blanche on a blank canvas we created a cosy first home and personal sanctuary for a busy city couple.
Recently developed and finished completely in white, this 2-bedroom maisonette in Notting Hill was aching for the new owner’s personality to take centre stage. Airy spaces and exquisite period features awaited us, as did a wide-open brief from the owners. Capturing their personal style, taste and desire for a warm, homely interior were our compass points – the rest was up to us. And as this was their first home, furniture, artwork and accessories were also on the wish list, which of course we were happy to oblige. We created a home to reflect different moods and occasions: soft, squishy sofas and a muted colour palette for relaxing; simple clean lines and timeless elegance in the dining and entertaining spaces and a cocoon of warm, peaceful tones and natural fabric layering in the bedrooms. We gave the kitchen a colour lift, created some clever storage solutions and planned the lighting to punctuate and emphasise the overall atmosphere.
To complete the canvas we sourced art, selected carpets and rugs and tailored curtains and window treatments. We designed, built and upholstered sofas, beds, headboards and armchairs. We even brought in a landscape gardener to ensure the interior personality from the conservatory spilled effortless outside. A genuinely delightful project for a genuinely delightful client.
