Senior Interior Designer

Job description

Spencer & Wedekind is looking for an interior designer to join them at its studio in London, UK.

The role would include working on projects from concept to finish and taking a lead role in implementing ideas, technical drawings, working on costings, quotes, schedules and the final presentation.

We are looking for an exceptional all-around designer who can develop and manage design projects from concept to completion and a proven ability to work independently, using their own initiative.

The candidate needs to have the ability and elegance to deal with project managers and clients at an international level displaying excellent communication skills, both verbal and written English.

They need to have excellent Vectorworks and Estimac skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • managing projects from concept to completion, working on several projects simultaneously
  • capable of working to a tight programme, under pressure and if necessary to a pre-defined budget
  • ability to build strong work relationships with contractors, consultants and suppliers
  • create technical drawings and tender packages, including space-plans, elevations and bespoke joinery drawings
  • understand client’s brief and create concept presentations
  • coordinate all elements of FF&E research, specification, procurement
  • create project schedules and costings

Knowledge and experience:

  • a minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience in high-end residential interior design
  • diverse, creative portfolio showing all stages of interior design
  • strong technical skills – Vectorworks & Estimac 
  • exceptional attention to detail
  • excellent knowledge of UK suppliers and manufacturers
  • excellent spoken and written English – presentation & communication skills
  • experience with Estimac
  • eligible to work in the UK
  • available to start immediately
