Amara initially started as an interior design business based just outside of London. Created by husband and wife team, Andrew and Sam, they utilised their combined strengths from the very beginning. Sam’s career in retail fashion nurtured her innate talent for styling and staying ahead of the trends. She soon found her calling to interiors after project managing her own home renovation. Andrew’s business know-how and acumen come from his wealth of experience in the investment bank industry.
Since launching in 2005, Amara has gone from strength to strength to become the number one online destination for luxurious homeware and gifts. Stocking a wide range of fashion and interior designer brands such as Missoni Home, Ralph Lauren, Linley and Kartell, Amara now proudly host over 300 brands.
Each brand is sourced for its design aesthetic, quality and originality. Not only does Amara stock well known international brands, but they also give a platform for independent and niche designers such as Niki Jones. It’s important to Amara to offer their customers something a little different, be that an exclusive collection or a new and exciting brand. Much of the buying team’s time is spent attending the many trade shows around the globe, meeting with new and established designers. From Chicago to Paris, Milan to Stockholm, the buying team find each show brings something new each season.

In 12 years, Amara has gone from a small boutique shop to the website it is today with expediential growth year on year, delivering items worldwide every day.
