Jennifer Manners Design (JMD) specialises in crafting exclusive, handmade rugs and soft furnishings for residential and commercial interior designers and architects globally. Each rug tells a story in beautiful detail and is brought to life by artisans in Nepal and India who have passed down their craft through the generations. Every piece is handmade-to-order, allowing for the precise size, colour and scale of pattern to be utilised, perfectly enhancing each space. Jennifer Manners herself has a background in both interior design and international news journalism. Her love of travel, art and nature can be easily recognised in her designs, honouring aesthetics from the many global cultures. Equally, she understands the challenges interior designers face and is able to assist and support clients with an empathy that is genuinely appreciated. The showroom in Kensington is a creative space where colours and textures come into their own. Interior designers regularly bring clients into the studio to take part in the creative experience, choosing colours and learning about the art of creating a bespoke piece. Clients choose between luxurious hand-knotted rugs in 80- or 100-knots or a more casual flat-woven style. Jennifer Manners also offers sumptuous silk ikat cushions woven by hand in the Fergana Valley of Uzbekistan. This area is called the 'Pearl of East' because of traditional arts that have been produced for centuries from this region. Bolts of silk and cotton ikats in vibrant colours and patterns can also be ordered for upholstery projects. In 2017, English Home magazine listed Jennifer Manners Design as their flooring supplier of the year.
