Spiral Cellars is the established and industry leading creator of underground wine cellars, offering a flexible, unique and seamless system for storing fine wines in the home. A watertight cylindrical concrete system is sunk into the earth through the ground floor of a house, from the convenience of the kitchen or lounge to the garage or garden room, and its size options offer great flexibility whatever the collection.

The Spiral Cellar was first developed by Frenchman Georges Harnois in 1977 and came to the UK in 1981. It is designed to store wine at optimum humidity, temperature and darkness and works by using the earth's natural attributes and a clever ventilation system. Its position in the ground means the cellar remains at a consistent temperature of between 8°C - 18°C and the ventilation and concrete construction maintain a humidity of approximately 70%, both perfect for storing everyday drinking wines or that case of Burgundy until it is ready to enjoy.

With a diameter of approximately 2.3m and depths of 2m, 2.5m and 3m available, allowing for between 1,000 and 1,900 bottles, a Spiral Cellar is the ideal option for the hobbyist or avid collector alike and can easily be customised to the individual home and wine lover.

Cellar options include the Essential Cellar, the Original Spiral Cellar, the White Spiral Cellar and the Garden Cellar.

Spiral Cellars are maintenance-free and, because they are dug into the ground, are space-saving. The Spiral Cellar can be sealed with a range of doors, from the showcase retractable round glass door to the recessed options, which also have the ability to fit seamlessly into any interior scheme.

Spiral Cellars works with designers and their clients to decide on the best cellar for their needs and the most suitable location in the property. The team will then handle any building regulation or permit requirements before excavating the site and installing the system. Spiral Cellars also offers a supply and install service should the designer's builder be able to excavate the hole. The installation process takes between 3-8 days and from the initial site survey to final visit from the After Sales Manager the process should take no more than 16 weeks.

Spiral Cellars also design and install bespoke wine rooms, wine walls and wine cabinets.
