Stephen Morris Shipping began life in the late 60's when the flood of antiques leaving this country for mainly the USA necessitated the need for a specialist shipper that could move valuable and fragile items without damage. Stephen Morris was a successful antiques dealer who understood those requirements. Initially, it was he who loaded the trucks and containers and saw the shipments safely off to their new homes, often flying to the destination to supervise the delivery and unpacking. Speed, efficiency and quality of service were Stephen's goals.
These days, the company has grown considerably but it has not forgotten those early principles. There is a large team of well-trained staff who move antiques, fine art and interior design items with that same speed, efficiency and quality of service. A brand new, purpose built warehouse (moved in November 2010) in Middlesex, fully equipped with specialised, secure storage facilities and an in-house packing and case-making facility, is supervised by knowledgeable office staff who liaise with clients and directly control the progress of each job. Across the world, the company has a network of Agents of equal ability who are proven to be able to handle destination work to the high standards demanded by Stephen Morris. We are proud members of the elite Euromovers Group.
In the UK, a company owned fleet of trucks ranging from small 3.5 tonne 'Luton' vans through to 38 tonne road-trains offer vehicles and equipment to suit all needs. Trucks are equipped with air-ride suspension, tail-lifts, loading tables and ramps, interior padding, side doors and sleeping accommodation for crews on long UK or European journeys. The latest truck even has a fitted kitchen!
