The Rug & Carpet Studio is a specialist retailer of hand-knotted rugs with one of the largest showrooms dedicated to traditional and contemporary rugs and carpets in the UK. Our Studio showcases a vast selection of rugs, runners, flatweaves and room-sized carpets from the historically famous carpet weaving countries of Iran (Persia), Afghanistan, Nepal, India, Morocco and Turkey; all individually selected for their quality and beautiful designs. With our market knowledge and extensive range of contacts throughout the carpet industry we are able to source the finest rugs of their kind.
The Rug & Carpet Studio works in partnership with interior designers, within both the commercial and domestic markets, who value our specialist knowledge on the history and production of these unique rugs and carpets, along with advice on the various designs, value, suitability and use of the rugs. We assist in choosing styles and colours that are suitable for the room and budget, and if required we will bring the selected pieces to the client’s premises to view in-situ. Alternatively, we can work from room plans, photographs and fabric swatches to source a collection. The personal service we offer is paramount. For us this is the key to our successful partnership and to ultimately finding the perfect rug.
We also offer a bespoke service and our in-house design team work on many projects where it is necessary to commission a custom version of a chosen design, specifically tailored to a particular room. Each rug is hand-knotted in our Nepal workshop under ethical conditions by weavers using age-old techniques.
The Rug & Carpet Studio is one of the few places in the country offering specialised restoration, conservation and cleaning for hand-knotted carpets. Our highly skilled team of conservators are accredited through the Institute of Conservation (ICON) and have undertaken work for prestigious clients throughout Europe
