Fiona de Lys

Fiona de Lys is an interior colour consultant, training providor and founder of the Delysian Colour System, running workshops from her cottage, featured in The English Home and House & Garden magazines. 

Fiona's philosophy is that a home grows by slow design, as a place to experience, celebrate and imagine moments between people and their surroundings - as an intimate space to commune with oneself, others, and precious possessions. When intentional colour design is used creatively in the home, Fiona advocates that it can help define people — by surrounding them with echoes of the chapters of their lives and evolving tastes. This, she has termed as creating an Aesthetic Narrative®.

Drawing on her broad-brush portfolio, Fiona works with paint palettes born of craft, history and nature, re-imagined as colours by makers, artists and designers. As part of her colour consultancy service, Fiona also works alongside interior designers on client projects and offers Creative Consultancy to brands wanting to develop their product palettes. Her aesthetic goes beyond the purely visual, mixing depth, experience and and place. Fiona's fascination with the dynamic and subjective qualities of how colour and light are experienced extends to the Japaneses aesthetic philosophy of In'ei (shadow and darkness) and how these soften imperfections and enhance subtle beauty. Her home and work is more recently featured in the film channel Nostalgia.
