Sustainability
The BIID are committed to supporting designers in creating interiors that are not only beautiful and functional but also environmentally responsible.
Whether you’re designing a residential or commercial space, every choice you make can contribute to a more sustainable future. This hub provides practical advice, and industry guidance to help interior designers and their supply chains adopt sustainable practices. From material selection and energy efficiency to reducing waste and promoting circular design, we aim to empower designers to make informed, responsible decisions.

Sustainability Committee
Our Sustainability Committee helps shape how the BIID leads on sustainable practice – from making sure the Code of Conduct reflects our sustainability goals, to influencing our training, events, and public content.
They also develop relationships with like-minded organisations who are working towards a greener, more sustainable built environment. It’s a great opportunity to make a real impact, connect with others who care about the planet, and help steer the BIID’s sustainability strategy.
