Alexander Johnstone

Alexander is Co-Founder and Creative Director at Syntria Design & Construction studio, bringing architectural rigour and an eye for detail to every project. Across 15 years in practice he has shaped spaces on mulitple continents, from the playful luxury of W Hotel projects in the Middle East to the adaptive-reuse landmark of Battersea Power Station and the soaring vertical village of 22 Bishopsgate. Alex’s portfolio spans prime Kensington & Chelsea residences, destination restaurants at home and abroad, and high-impact commercial interiors—all underpinned by a conviction that good design should elevate daily life.

A chartered member of SBID and BIID with an MArch, Alexander remains committed to the profession’s future: he mentors peers, runs school outreach sessions, and champions emerging talent. Outside the studio he balances his love of sport and live music with family life—and a steady curiosity for the cultural nuances that turn a building into a story.
