Jan Norman

For Jan Norman, RIBA BIID, architecture and interiors are encompassing and interwoven disciplines, shaped as much by intuition as by precision. Jan has been integral to the growth of 23 Architecture and Interiors since joining the practice in 1998. She is now a Director, leading the interiors side of the practice.

Having lived in Glasgow, Florence and Berlin before settling in London, Jan’s varied experiences have shaped a layered design language that brings together tradition and contemporary expression. With nearly three decades of experience creating and delivering one-off homes for discerning clients, she brings a breadth of knowledge and a holistic approach to every project. Architecture and interiors are conceived as one, resulting in spaces that are individual, cohesive, refined and designed to endure.

The practice is known for creating spatial, sculptural and light-filled projects. Its collaborative and sensitive approach ensures that each client’s individuality is thoughtfully reflected throughout the design.

Jan specialises in creating elegant, timeless interiors that seamlessly integrate with architecture. Working closely with her team, she delivers a holistic design service, ensuring that every element of a project, from spatial planning and architectural detailing to the selection of furniture, lighting, fabrics and finishes, contributes to a cohesive and refined aesthetic.

Her thoughtful approach and meticulous attention to detail have helped shape some of the practice’s most prestigious multi-million-pound residential projects.
