Sophie Chapman founded Studio Gorse in 2021, emerging in the wake of the pandemic. 

Founded by Sophie Chapman in 2021, Studio Gorse takes its name and inspiration from the Cornish coastline and flora—its rugged beauty and strong sense of place deeply influence the studio’s layered, nuanced interiors.

With over a decade of industry experience in the South West and a First-Class BA (Hons) in Interior Design from Falmouth University, Sophie leads a dynamic studio focused on both residential and commercial projects. She has a particular affinity for Grade-listed and heritage buildings, approaching them with care, creativity and respect - blending historical character with a contemporary sensitivity.

Studio Gorse is driven by authenticity, sustainability, and collaboration - drawing on a trusted network of local contractors, makers and artisans across the South West. Each project is approached with care, aiming to enhance everyday life and well-being through timeless, meaningful design.
