Yoko Kloeden Design is a London-based architecture and interior design studio, founded by Yoko Kloeden in 2016. Located in West London, the studio specialises in crafting mood-enhancing sanctuaries, seamlessly blending Japanese aesthetics with natural, serene elements. Each project aims to create spaces that feel both harmonious and deeply restorative, reflecting Yoko’s commitment to calm, balanced interiors.

With an early career in business and finance, Yoko Kloeden travelled extensively throughout Asia, North America, and Europe. Her journey exposed her to many contrasting environments, from impersonal airport lounges to uninspired hotel rooms, inspiring her to create interiors rooted in peace and purpose. Having grown up in Kyoto, Japan, Yoko has long appreciated the quiet power of nature, frequently finding solace in temple gardens and embracing the tranquillity they provide.

Central to Yoko Kloeden Design’s philosophy is the Japanese principle of Yugen — a deep sense of presence and peace found in the subtle beauty of life. Drawing from this philosophy, the studio has distilled five guiding principles to foster balanced, calm environments. These principles are Hikari (Light), Nagame (View), Ma (Space), Shizen (Nature), and Taru o Shiru (Less is More), each one focused on cultivating harmony and simplicity.
