Woodbender

Founded in 1988 in Cape Town, South Africa, Woodbender is a second-generation, family-owned furniture manufacturer dedicated to the art of steam-bending solid timber.

With an established presence in South Africa and the UK, where we have been supplying furniture for the past four years. Our collection of chairs and stools is crafted for high-end residential, hospitality and commercial interiors around the world.

At the heart of Woodbender are our people and our process. Each piece is individually handcrafted, never mass-produced, reflecting a commitment to traditional craftsmanship, thoughtful design and continual innovation. This dedication has earned Woodbender international recognition, including two awards at Clerkenwell Design Week 2026 for Best of Clerkenwell and Best Craftsmanship.

Beyond the furniture itself, we understand the importance of working with a trusted manufacturing partner. Our dedicated Trade Portal has been designed to support interior designers and industry professionals, providing convenient access to trade pricing, product specifications, 3D configurator, and quote and project builders. Alongside this, our team offers samples, technical guidance and international logistics support to make the specification process as seamless and reliable as possible.

"Furniture, when truly crafted, is not only built to serve but to endure, carrying forward a legacy shaped by process, intention, and care, where every detail reflects the time, skill, and quiet devotion of its making."
