Angela Scanlon Announced As MC For BIID Interior Design Awards

We are delighted to reveal that this years MC for the BIID Interior Design Awards is Irish broadcaster, Angela Scanlon.

Angela Scanlon is an Irish broadcaster and author known for hosting shows on the BBC and RTÉ as well as her weekend breakfast show on Virgin Radio.  Angela’s work as a stylist led her into TV studios where she fell in love with broadcasting. Her first major documentary Oi Ginger! aired on RTE in 2014 to critical acclaim. This led to follow-up series Angela Scanlon: Full Frontal which tackled taboo subjects such as extreme makeovers, fitness, and nudity. 

Since beginning her work with the BBC Angela has hosted The One Show, cult classic Robot Wars alongside Dara O’Brien, BBC Two’s hit interior design show Your Home Made Perfect, Trumps Unlikely Superfans for BBC Three as well as coverage of T In The Park and the BAFTAs. Angela has her own Saturday night chat show on RTÉ One Angela Scanlon’s Ask Me Anything and in 2023 she took part in Strictly Come Dancing alongside pro-partner Carlos Gu.

In 2022 Angela published her debut book Joyrider: How Gratitude Can Get Help You Get The Life You Really Want, to rave reviews. Part memoir, part self-help guide, Joyrider sees Angela chart her own journey into the world of self-development.
Last year Angela took over from Graham Norton, hosting her own Virgin Radio Weekend breakfast show. 

On 23rd October, Angela will present the BIID Awards to eight regional winners, the Anna Whitehead Sustainability Prize and the overall Interior of the Year Prize. The ceremony will be held at the opulent Drapers’ Hall.
