The Design Net Ltd

Profile

The Design Net helps interior designers and architects protect their design intent from specification through to delivery and installation.

Established in 1996 and led by founder Gay Mill, The Design Net is a London-based, trade-focused supplier of contemporary furniture and lighting. The company supplies carefully selected European brands including B&B Italia, Maxalto, Knoll, Gloster, Contardi, Crassevig and Traba Italia. These collections provide designers with access to contemporary Italian furniture, modern classics, premium outdoor furniture, decorative lighting and contract-suitable seating for high-end residential, hospitality and commercial projects.

Alongside its established brand partners, The Design Net creates British-made bespoke furniture through specialist workshops close to London. From individual tables, bedside cabinets and media units to seating, storage and fitted pieces, furniture can be developed to meet the exact dimensions, materials, finishes and functional requirements of a project.

This ability to move confidently between branded and bespoke furniture is one of the company’s greatest strengths. Sometimes an established design is exactly right for the scheme. At other times, a particular proportion, finish or practical requirement calls for something made specifically for the space. The Design Net can support both routes within the same project, giving designers greater freedom and fewer compromises.

Gay brings three decades of specialist furniture experience to every brief. Her value extends well beyond access to products. She understands how different manufacturers operate, what information factories require, which details need to be confirmed before ordering, how finishes perform in practice and where lead times, access or installation can create problems later.

From quotations, samples and finish selection to order management, delivery and installation planning, designers have one knowledgeable and accountable point of contact throughout the process.

This combination of founder-led service, manufacturer knowledge, British bespoke capability and practical project foresight distinguishes The Design Net from a conventional furniture dealer. The aim is simple: to make furniture specification and supply easier to manage while protecting the designer’s original vision.
