Amazing Spaces

When John Evans Interior Architecture & Design took on the interior design of this grand Northamptonshire home, there was plenty to keep them busy. A new extension had been added and a large section of the original building was demolished and re-built. The owner wanted the interior to feature a basement entertainment area complete with wine vaults, cinema and games room. They also wanted to maximise the use of the first floor, as the previous arrangement only had one bathroom for such a large house.

Sam Round, Senior Designer, used our stone and tiles throughout, starting with the orangery, where our Mallory Limestone in a tumbled finish and Nero Slate Cabochons create an aged appearance that look like they have been there forever. “We wanted to create the sense that the conservatory has always been a part of the building,” says Sam.

Limestone was also chosen for the boot room, with Amaya in a tumbled finish. “We wanted to create a rustic interior space and the tumbled edges and pitted surface worked excellently with the scheme,” reveals Sam.

In the master ensuite, Folio marble in a honed finish was selected to complement this opulent and light interior. “The Folio range has a classic elegance and subtle veining for a warm and luxurious finish,” adds Sam. The same material was also used for the countertop and splashback. To complete the design, the WC features Waldorf Silver Blue Leaf Limestone.

“We always find Artisans of Devizes to be most helpful in sourcing suitable materials for varying tasks,” confirms Sam. “They always supply workable samples, which actually show full characteristics and variations in a tile. They also get stock to site swiftly and we like the quality of all the products and general professionalism of the company as a whole.”
