Ted Todd project

ASTRAZENECA - WORKSPACE

Sector: Workspace

Featured product: Sienna Extra Wide Plank

In 2022, AstraZeneca relocated its UK headquarters to London’s Knowledge Quarter in King’s Cross, a rapidly growing district known for its knowledge-based businesses. Ekho Studio, a young design firm, was tasked with creating a high-spec, 37,000 sq ft workspace that emphasized health, well-being, sustainability, and flexibility.

Woodworks by Ted Todd collaborated closely with Ekho Studio to supply bespoke timber flooring tailored to AstraZeneca's needs. Hand-crafted samples matched existing materials, ensuring the final planks met the project’s exacting standards in colour, tone, texture, and finish. The chosen FSC-certified 2ply engineered European oak plank provided durability and a unique aesthetic. Whilst the floor specified for AstraZeneca is a bespoke solution, a floor similar in tone and grade is Sienna from the Woodworks Editions collection.

The design, inspired by boutique hotel lounges, features a harmonious mix of wood floors, carpet, and soft furnishings, creating a dynamic and collaborative office environment. The use of natural light, biophilic elements, and a warm colour palette contributes to a welcoming and productive workspace that reflects AstraZeneca’s values and modern workplace design trends.
