Hand painted decorative details and optical illusions (trompe l'oeil) are grounded in the canon of historical interiors. Rooms may require bespoke hand painted elements such as classical or floral motifs for furniture and cabinetry, or playful images for a children's nursery.

Trompe l'oeil artwork brings flat surfaces alive in 3D perspective: Flat dados can be painted to give the appearance of luxurious deep panelling; and painted curtains can drape over painted windows opening onto painted views. Small areas like guest powder rooms or lifeless panels can be brightened and given the illusion of space, even introducing a quirky or humorous element where required.
