Project Summary:

The Brocks Hill redevelopment, led by Oadby and Wigston Borough Council (OWBC), exemplifies sustainable innovation through adaptive reuse in construction. By refurbishing their Visitor Centre into a modern headquarters, OWBC reduced their carbon footprint and aligned with their sustainability goals. The project featured smart design solutions like a new mezzanine level and light-enhancing features such as light shafts and roof lights to utilise space effectively while minimising environmental impact. Aesthetic choices and flexible design supported functionality and community engagement, culminating in significant operational and utility cost reductions. This redevelopment sets a benchmark for sustainable urban renewal, showcasing how existing structures can be effectively transformed to meet contemporary needs and environmental standards.
