Evolution of the Domestic Interior
This guided tour of the Victoria and Albert Museum will cover the evolution of interior design and the development of the domestic interior over the last 150 years. Tour guide Anthony Thompson will talk attendees through examples of Victorian, Georgian, Art Deco and Modernist furniture jewellery, silver and sculpture as well as the significant collection of historic wall papers and textiles which have been used as a resource by countless designers.
About the speaker:
Anthony Thompson is a specialist tour guide to London and UK museums, galleries, art fairs and exhibition. He also regularly gives lectures and talks on art and history related subjects. From 1977-1990 he was Christie's (King Street) Director and head of the Islamic Department. He also acts as an agent and broker supplying Oriental and European rugs to the interior design industry and private clients.
