The House & Garden Festival

Event date

19-23 June at Olympia London is the only fair of its kind and an inspiring day out for summer shopping. The Festival brings together three individual events: House Fair combined with Grow London, Spirit of Summer Fair and The Art & Antiques Fair Olympia.

The British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) is partnering with the House & Garden Festival 2019, hosting a series of BIID events and activities at the inspiring interiors event. These include a BIID panel discussion as part of the show’s Expert Theatre programme, a series of Interior Advice Clinics with BIID Registered Interior Designers and a dedicated talk at the Art & Antiques Fair Olympia.

Chaired by BIID President Elect, Harriet Forde, the BIID panel discussion will focus on ‘How an interior designer can add value to your project.’ Joining Harriet for an insightful discussion, will be BIID Members Brian Woulfe, Rosie Winston and Henry Prideaux, who will be discussing the benefits of working with a professional interior designer and how their expertise can transform and add value to a project. Taking place at 12:30pm on Wednesday 19th June, this talk will give an overview of the services and skills that interior designers provide, how to find the right designer for a project and how to get the best out of the client/designer relationship.

Following from their success at the Festival last year, the BIID Interior Advice Clinics will be returning to the show floor at the House and Garden Festival 2019, offering one-to-one professional advice during the event. Each complimentary session will be hosted by a BIID Member and Registered Interior Designer, giving attendees invaluable tips and advice that they can take away and apply to their own projects. To find the full list of designers taking part and to book your slot, visit the House & Garden Festival website.

You are sure to be inspired by the variety of collections on display and find the finest pieces for interiors and gardens. With a wide selection for all spaces from sitting rooms to bathrooms and kitchens, including furniture, flooring, lighting, wall coverings and accessories. Our focus on quality and craftsmanship will help you to create desirable and versatile interiors and transform any outside space.

You can also enjoy London’s longest-running art and antiques fair, where all content is vetted to guarantee quality and originality. You can buy with confidence from a wide range of periods and styles. Discover 160 leading British and international art galleries and antique dealers. As part of its Expert Theatre talks programme on the Festival’s extended days, BIID Associate Member and historic interiors specialist, Amanda Ransom, will be in conversation with Tim Corfield, expert at antique curators Corfield Morris. They will be speaking on ‘Decorating and Furnishing Period Homes with Antiques’ at 2pm on Friday 28th June, and will discuss the pleasures and challenges of decorating homes in period style and how to plan for and buy antiques.
