Inside Stories: Designer Case Studies

Event date

Event description

BIID members are exclusively invited to attend the latest in our Inside Stories: Designer Case Studies series.

Members will be treated to two inspiring case studies presented by BIID Registered Interior Designers Tim Gosling and Zaniz Jakubowski.

The designers will walk us through their unique designs from concept to completion with visual imagery along the route revealing before and after shots, insights into their working practice and how they dealt with the requirements of clients, contractors, lead times and budgets.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Over the 90 minute webinar, the designers will introduce their projects and will be available for a short Q&A each following their presentation.

Project: “Chateau Restoration”, Bayeux France

Designer: Tim Gosling, Gosling Ltd

“Three years ago, we bought a rather lost and forgotten chateau in France, just outside Bayeux, famously known for the incredible tapestries. Much to our amazement, my partner Steve and I began the restoration journey to unravel the remarkable history, including the chapel, which was founded by the Knights Templar in 1148 and the extraordinary role the chateau played throughout World War 2.”

Project: “Luminosity” A 107 metre Superyacht

Designer: Zaniz Jakubowski, Zaniz Ltd

Named as one of the 25 greatest Superyachts of the last 100 years. The designer behind Luminosity will talk about creating someone’s dream world on the water. Zaniz will take you on a fast forward journey of a 10-year project from inception, client brief, the build process and delivery of the first ever hybrid PYC Superyacht. “It was a project with many firsts and one in which we had the opportunity to experiment with new concepts and technologies. Luminosity was designed from the inside out where our main drivers where connectivity to the sea and light. There were many people involved in such a large project and without their expertise so many items such as the giant windows would never have been a possibility but most of all without such a forward-thinking client this project would not have happened”.

WHAT YOU WILL LEAVE WITH

  • An insight into the inspirations and complications of delivering successful interior design projects.
  • Exposure to how other designers run their projects and their approach to working with contractors, suppliers, and other built environment professionals.
