Swatchbox Presents Sampling Smarter: A guide to working sustainably with samples
Join Swatchbox for their BIID accredited CPD Sampling Smarter: A guide to working sustainably with samples.
Waste management in the UK is evolving, but landfill, decomposition rates and leachate, toxins and Green House Gases are still major issues facing the construction industry. In this CPD you will learn about these factors and what designers can do to lessen the impact of their own practice on the environment via several key initiatives that are making the sample ordering and management process a lot easier These include: Zero Avoidable Waste in Construction initiative (ZAW), ‘Return A Sample’ programs and exploring new technologies such as sample aggregation platforms and sample recycling services.
Learning outcomes:
- Understand the scope of sample waste being generated by the construction industry and design firms
- How to correctly recycle samples
- How to motivate your teams to use more sustainable approaches to sample ordering
- Examples of how other firms are reusing samples to other functions
- Services that can help your practice reduce waste
