This CPD will examine light sources to achieve concealed lighting effects and considerations for the best concealed lighting results. It will also review latest applications across a range of case studies.

It’s no easy feat designing lighting for luxury joinery; getting the perfect aesthetics for the space requires pre-planning and coordination. We’ve worked globally on projects that incorporate lighting into joinery on many levels, highlighting a multitude of different objects and collections. Within this new CPD, we will be sharing the considerations to look out for when incorporating lighting into joinery and its various applications and solutions, using the lighting toolbox of new generation joinery luminaries.

Learning objectives

After taking this CPD interior designers will have:

• Raised their awareness of the detail required for joinery lighting, including pre-planning and coordination.
• Increased their knowledge of the layered lighting principles involved in joinery lighting.
• Considered lighting design more carefully for the best effect, with an increased awareness of surface finishes and objects being lit with a design
• Increased their knowledge of the appropriate LED fittings to the right applications
• Learned about the control systems that can be used and applied for optimum results
