Job Description

Thorp is an award-winning interior design and architectural practice creating incredible projects around the world with a reputation for excellence. 

We are looking for two confident and highly creative interior decorators, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to work on high net-worth projects. You will assist the Senior Interior Decorator to compile bespoke interiors schemes and assist them to ensure that all projects are completed to our exacting high standards.

You will work full-time and be based at our Sloane Street studio in London.  You will work closely with colleagues in the studio and should be proactive to build and maintain relationships. Travel within the UK and abroad will be required. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Design individual fabric and furniture schemes.
  • Choose and source furnishings including art and antiques.
  • Prepare schemes for presentation to clients in line with Thorp branding guidelines. 
  • In depth knowledge of furniture and finishes.
  • Build, maintain and develop relationships with clients throughout the project, acting as a point of contact.
  • Nurture and maintain relationships with suppliers. 
  •  Design spaces and furniture layouts; sketch/draw layouts.
  • Ensure the Interior Design area is maintained well.
  • Problem solving and the ability to find a solution.
  • Site visits including liaising with contractors and trades, when necessary.
  • Assist the FF&E team in running the installation and be heavily involved in the final stages of installation especially with the placement of items within the property. 
  • Assist the Senior Interior Decorator to resolve any snagging issues as they arise.

  • Experience of high net-worth clients’ projects

EMPLOYMENT TERMS

  • This role is a permanent, full-time contract. 
  • The core hours are 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
  • The basic annual salary is dependent on experience. 
  • A discretionary annual bonus based on individual performance as well as company performance. 
  • 23 days' holiday each year (plus statutory national holidays). Holidays must be held for the company closure for between Christmas and New Year.
