How the room at the back of the house became the centre of innovation

The focus of the CPD is exploring concepts that will affect how kitchens will be designed and used in the future. The three key concepts explored, initially on a macro level, then applied to kitchens, are Technology, Sustainability and Urbanisation. The CPD also reflects on key moments in the history of kitchen design, and features projects that give an idea of how the future of kitchen design may look in practice.

By the end of the seminar you should have a greater understanding of:

• The history of kitchen design
• Key driving forces that will influence how kitchens will be designed in the future and advise clients on these
• Kitchen concepts/projects from around the world
