Marina Hughes Interiors Ltd project

Principal Suite - Woking, Surrey

Inspired by the elegance of Art Deco, this luxurious Principal Suite was conceived by Marina Hughes Interiors as a fully integrated interior architecture and interior design scheme, combining detailed technical design with bespoke furniture, lighting and decoration.

Designed to function almost as a private apartment within the home, the suite brings together the bedroom, dressing area and associated facilities into one carefully considered environment. The studio developed the space planning, detailed layouts, bespoke joinery and technical design, ensuring that storage, lighting and practical requirements were seamlessly integrated into the architecture of the room.

Bespoke multifunctional joinery provides extensive concealed storage while incorporating practical elements such as the air-conditioning system. A full-height upholstered headboard with integrated reading lights, internally illuminated wardrobes, carefully detailed ceiling treatments and a wireless Lutron lighting system were coordinated to create both functionality and atmosphere.

The technical detailing is balanced by a rich decorative scheme inspired by 1930s glamour. Soft leather wardrobe doors, layered fabrics, aged brass and bronze finishes, statement lighting and bespoke furniture introduce warmth and sophistication, while carefully selected artwork and accessories complete the interior.
