The RNLI College & Hotel, located on the Dorset coast, boasts incredible views across Poole Harbour. The vast campus is home to this revered charity where many volunteers come to train to become brave lifeboat men and women saving lives at sea. The brief was to improve the first-floor circular bar surrounded by glass and views across the harbour. It lacked any identity, so the RNLI team's objective was clear; dramatically change the space to create a wow factor that celebrated visitors were at the heart of this iconic charity.
The RNLI's impressive art archive provided Emma with the perfect inspiration for redesigning the bar. The iconic RNLI colour palette, lifesaver equipment and nautical features all played a starring role in her final design. Natural wood light fixtures, framed crew helmets, boats suspended from the ceilings, and a bar adorned with bright yellow wellies added an element of fun.
