Huntsmore designed and project managed the full renovation of a maisonette on a quiet mews in Notting Hill. The property was in a tired condition and required a complete cosmetic overhaul, having not been renovated in at least 30 years.

Some alterations were made to the layout, reconfiguring bathrooms and creating a new utility / WC area on the ground floor. Structurally, a new staircase was also designed and installed. The previous stair incarnation had dated, mock Victorian spindles. Huntsmore proposed contemporary black steel spindles with a slimline oak bannister running top to bottom. These black spindles were complemented with a green and black Roger Oates stair-runner and an off-black 'Fern' wallpaper from Little Greene.

Bespoke joinery was designed and built throughout, including the kitchen. This was handmade in our workshop and was constructed of Ash door fronts, with the inside of the cabinetry finished in Walnut. A rich Calacatta marble was sourced for the worktop, with the subtle hints of gold and green in the stone being reflected by the brass handles and green of the overall scheme.

Hardwood floors in a herringbone pattern run throughout the entire ground floor. The existing fireplace surround was removed and a classic limestone mantle from Chesney's was sourced to act as a feature and focal point in the room. The tired and draughty French doors at the rear were also replaced with a contemporary sliding system, finished in Oak which was paired well with the flooring.
