HUNTSMORE project

Listed Art Deco apartment, Marylebone W1

Huntsmore carried out the sensitive renovation of a listed 1930s apartment in Marylebone, reimagining the layout to suit modern living while respecting the building’s historic character. Central to the scheme was the relocation of the small kitchen from the central of the property to the large double reception room, creating a light-filled entertaining space. The former kitchen was repurposed as a masculine study and wine store, crafted from dark walnut, taking cues from the building’s Art Deco style.

Bespoke joinery, designed and manufactured in our London workshop, was installed throughout. Each piece was crafted to respond to the function of its space, yet unified by an overarching respect for the apartment’s heritage. The project also confronted the regulatory complexities of a High-Risk Building under the Building Safety Act 2022, with close collaboration from fire safety consultants to ensure compliance while preserving the listed fabric.

The result is a refined London home where craftsmanship, period character, and contemporary living come together in harmony.
