Campion Bell

I’ve been a professional artist all my working life, trained in fine art with a spell in advertising graphics, but since then freelance, and specializing in design for paint; murals and trompe l’oeil, but with side hustles in book illustration, portraiture, equestrian painting, stained glass, painted furniture and… and… I keep busy.

I’ve always had a passion for interior design, and won the World of Interiors Design Competitions in 1994 and 1995, and was a finalist in the House and Garden/KLC competition in 2019. I went on to get a distinction in the KLC online certificate - I needed to know the industry basics. But it’s murals that I keep coming back to...the humour, the personalisation possible, the imagination needed, getting to know what makes people happy, the problem solving..

I have painted in churches, visitor centres, and hotels as well as some really lovely houses. Quite frequently I get asked back to do another mural; they can be addictive.
