Profile

Laura Marino is the founder and principal designer of Studio L London, creating narrative-led residential interiors across London, the Home Counties and abroad.

Studio L London's work has been featured in The Telegraph, The Times, Vogue, Wallpaper*, Homes & Gardens and SheerLuxe. Their yellow bedroom from a Grade II listed fire station conversion has been selected for the upcoming Philip Jeffries wallpaper book being published by Rizzoli. Their recent Notting Hill project—a Grade II listed gut renovation and decor which Studio L also project managed—won the Homes & Gardens Design Award 2025 for Best Small Space. Studio L London is listed in House & Garden's curated directory, The List.

Laura's background is as Creative Director and co-founder of the multi-award-winning, design-led boutique development management company, Alchemi Group, where she led design across multiple assets. Under her creative direction, 55 Victoria Street won the RIBA London Regional Award and Westminster Fire Station was shortlisted. Laura founded Studio L London in 2016 after being asked to transfer her skills from bespoke at scale to private residences.

The practice specialises in layered, colour-confident interiors—thoughtfully balancing scale, pattern, and texture to create cohesive, harmonious homes with classical foundations. Each project is grounded in a distinct narrative, drawing on cinema, nostalgia, and cultural references to create interiors that feel deeply personal and emotionally resonant.

Services span concept through turnkey delivery, including project management on listed buildings and complex renovations. Laura holds Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance and is a BIID Registered Interior Designer®.
