Silk Road

This Grade II-listed, three-bedroom penthouse was part of a boutique development in Leinster Square, at the crossroads of Notting Hill and Westbourne Grove. Meticulously restored, the home is set within a series of elegant stucco-fronted Victorian buildings. Studio L was the Creative Director and Interior Designer on the overall project. The 1700 ft2 home was a study of the modern-day influence of eastern decor inspired by travels along the Silk Road, reinterpreted with a contemporary twist. Moving away from the typically dark style, a tailored foundation of clean lines took the lead. We added sumptuous textiles and patterns to add warmth and give the style a preppy essence. Bolder elements like the custom green velvet sofa added a sublime twist as the star of the interior. The goal was to mix an unexpected curation and cross-cultural dialogue, creating an inviting space where every piece told a story.
