Vernon House is a 64 studio apartment building, set across 4 6-storey Regency mansion houses in the heart of Primrose Hill.

Originally tired & dated nurses accommodation, it was purhased by our Clients to be redesigned and refurbished into high specification rental studio apartments to befit the standard of the area.

Pascoe Interiors was recommended by Modulor Studio, the Project Architects & commissioned re-design this 64 studio apartment building and all communal areas.  Working directly with the design team (Client, Developer, Architect, English Heritage & M&E) Pascoe Interiors was responsible for determining the style tiers within the building (to reflect the varying degree of traditional features in the building) ; the material finishes, schemes & products; furniture layouts; procurement & placement.

    All materials meet contract status, from the sustainably produced Bolon flooring to the 'linen' vinyl wall paper. The focus being on adding layers of textural interest, which belie their contract durability.

    To take advantage of the high ceilings on the ground & first floors, mezzanine sleeping platforms were added, maximising the living space of these studios.

    Bespoke slatted screens provide safety and allow light to flood the sleeping platforms to maximise their visual impact.

    Materials / palettes / finishes were adjusted to suit the different physical attributes of each floor: White ceiling pendants were selected for studios with standard ceiling heights, and where original features were lacking, interest was added through a brighter colour palette (coloured chairs & blue wool blinds).

    All showers feature an all white scheme, lifted with pattered floor tiles - for a crisp, bright & pared back scheme. Every product was selected to meet the rigours of contract use, to ensure the longevity of the design & investment.

    The luxuriously dense, bespoke striped carpet that adorns both the main and rear staircases belies it's full contract status - proving how beautiful contract finishes & interiors can be.
