The client engaged us to project manage the renovation of their flat in Belsize Park.
The property benefitted from lovely light, space and features, but suffered from some practical challenges including a water supply from an old tank, and large single glazed windows. Our client wanted to resolve these, and take the opportunity to update the finishes and improve use of space throughout.
The property has lots of traditional features, while the client had a great collection of modern artwork and was drawn to more industrial elements – including beautiful dark bronze taps and hardware. We drew these styles together by introducing new colours, and adding tactile finishes; light fittings with soft natural wood and luxurious window coverings.
The main bathroom has been transformed into a sanctuary; with a beautiful & ergonomic bath, soft lighting options, and bathroom furniture made from reclaimed venetian wood. The smaller guest ensuite is very compact, but made to feel more spacious with clever detailing including a reeded glass shower screen. Even the small utility room is now a lovely space, with carefully designed joinery maximising storage space, and a large sink with bespoke splashback.
In the guest room/ study, we designed a bespoke freestanding storage unit to house a printer and neatly tidy the cables. In the main bedroom there was limited bedside space, so a built-in floating shelf adds valuable storage space.
We arranged the required permissions to add a new, separate, mains water supply, and to replace the windows throughout with double glazed.
The result is a home that is beautiful, welcoming & comfortable.
