Event description
The British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) is proud to once again be supporting the Olympia International Art and Antiques Fair (5-15 June 2014, Olympia Exhibition Centre, London), and are delighted to announce that renowned interior designer and BIID member Lady Henrietta Spencer-Churchill will deliver a highlight presentation as part of the prestigious talks programme.
Lady Henrietta is the eldest daughter of the 11th Duke of Marlborough whose family home is Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. She studied at the Inchbald School of Design before forming her own highly successful interior design company, Woodstock Designs, in 1981 undertaking commissions worldwide. Woodstock Designs are specialists in residential design from renovation of period properties to new build houses and experts in incorporating current trends and technology whilst respecting the historic character and architecture. Lady Henrietta joined the BIID in 1981.
On Wednesday 11 June, Lady Henrietta will take her audience on a journey through a stunning selection of historic homes in both England and the United States to reveal the best of architectural and furnishing details from the last three hundred years. Based around her book The Life of the House, How Rooms Evolve, her talk will explore ideas on updating these spaces for modern times. Following the presentation, there will be an exclusive drinks reception for BIID members, where they can meet with other designers in a relaxed and informal setting.
“The Olympia International Art and Antiques Fair is one of the largest and most established marketplaces for art and antiques and remains a prestigious and influential event for interior
designers,” says Debra McQuin, the BIID’s Marketing Director. “The Institute is pleased to be supporting the fair once again and we are delighted that Lady Henrietta has agreed to speak at the show in what looks to be an interesting and inspiring talk.”
The Olympia International Art and Antiques Fair is an important date for designers. The event attracts a variety of collectors and enthusiasts, including many famous names.
