Learn more about Abels, offering interior design support services and end-to-end management of inventory.
Please tell us about Abels and what you do?
Abels Moving Services was founded in 1958 and has a history of offering quality moving services to Interior Designers within London, the UK and overseas. Always based upon the ethos of the “Abels Way” quality of service and customer satisfaction is always paramount to this philosophy that has grown and developed. Having provided services to the Interior Design Industry for many years we truly know that the most crucial part of what we do is to listen to and help advise our clients appropriately. Working together as a team is at the heart of everything we do to ensure the seamless delivery of our services that we pride ourselves upon.
Our Interior Design support services offer end-to-end management of inventory, including the receipt, condition reporting, storage, delivery and installation of your items. With years of experience in the industry, we’ve worked with leading businesses to help deliver their important projects on time and within budget.
From the very first enquiry we listen to our clients to understand their requirements this is then followed by an initial site visit, video call or a full project planning meeting whatever is needed to fully understand the scope and complexity of our client’s needs. From the first contact through to the project completion and after care we pride ourselves on being there for our clients.
Assigning the right team to the right project is key to the success of any project and something we feel very passionately about. Our expertise extends beyond the transportation and setting up of furniture. At Abels, we offer complete administrative support with on-site project managers, who will take care of everything. Quality assurance is always guaranteed, from white glove installations and photographic inventories to fully bonded storage facilities (with RAMS documentation), tailored to meet our clients’ exact requirements.
Our specialist solutions are unique, and completely tailored specifically to our client’s individual requirements. From start to finish, we will cover everything required in the relevant package, offering a complete one-stop shop to get the project complete.
Once our clients have decided what new products they require, we will check them against the specifications and install them at a chosen date. This way, we can ensure that no products are unnecessarily on-site, eliminating mistakes and potential for damage. We will stick to a strict structure, allowing the project to be completed seamlessly.
One of the most important parts of our process is the care and attention taken in providing the physical services and ensuring we use the right materials to protect the items we are responsible for.
Every member of staff at Abels takes part in an ongoing programme of personal development at our training centre to maintain our high company standards. Our staff hold professional qualifications and have considerable experience in moving high-value items. In addition, they are also security-cleared so there is peace of mind knowing that valuable items are being handled by trustworthy professionals.
When it comes to packing, we take a bespoke approach and use a variety of materials to ensure we do not compromise when it comes to protecting valuable items. Sustainability is an important factor in what we do, and we ensure that all our packing materials are sourced with the environment in mind coming from managed deforestation schemes and are recyclable. We ensure that we closely manage the use of our materials and each of our depots have appropriate recycling skips so that we can oversee this process.
Our Environmental Issue Policy remains top of our agenda and forms part of our training commitment so that all our employees understand and sign up to this policy. We are proud to have held the standard of ISO14001 since 2016 to improve our environmental performance through the efficient use of resources and reduction of waste through better working practices. We work closely with charities to ensure any items required for disposal are either reused, repurposed, or recycled. A copy of our Environmental Issue Policy can be found here Environmental Issues Policy | Abels Moving Services and covers all aspects of our business.
Abels is proud to be a member of BIID and have worked with and formed strong ongoing relationships with several fellow members. We are also industry recognised and accredited with memberships at the British Association of Removers (BAR), the Harmony Relocation Network and the Federation Internationale des Demenageurs Internationaux (FIDI). We are also one of only a small handful of moving companies to have been awarded a Royal Warrant. We’re also proud to be industry partners of LAPADA (The Association of Art and Antiques Dealers) and the Museums Association.
At AGC, forging strong partnerships within our logistical operation has been crucial to our journey and continued success. Our collaboration with Abels Moving Services which now spans a period of over 10 years is certainly no exception. Both AGC and Abels align perfectly in their understanding and appreciation for the exceptional standards, attention to detail and sustained excellence our clients have now come to expect within our vast offerings of interior architecture. As Britain’s first B Corp certified interior designer, AGC’s environmental performance remains to be our highest priority as we continue our journey to evolve and improve. As our FF&E logistics partner, knowing that Abels echoes our ethics and standards in sustainability; it’s paramount that we have the confidence in their environmental management systems which include EV fleet, responsible recycled waste management, reusable protective equipment, HGV monitored driving standards and ISO14001 certified. We thoroughly enjoy working with Abels and their dedicated team, two brands excelling in their field.
